Culinary Education

Earth to Table Ministries will look to create a culinary school geared towards the youth of the North Lawndale Community. The objective is to increase knowledge of local food systems, increase ability to make healthy food choices, increase the desire for experiencing new foods, acquiring culinary skills in the safe use of all kitchen utensils, as well as storage and cooking appliances. Earth to Table will also help youth to acquire skills in the administration of school cafeterias, industrial kitchens and bistro’s.

Earth to Table will look to promote the youth to participate in local, national and international cooking contests to expand their knowledge of the importance of food from around the world and how cultural traditions are formed. Students in the school will be encouraged to use skills learned in the classroom i.e. math, science, reading, and history, to help them learn new culinary skills.
